AI Self-Sufficiency Lab
Use AI safely. Make something useful. Leave with a plan.
In two guided sessions, you choose a real task, learn how to protect private information, create something useful, check it carefully, and leave with a plan you can continue on your own.
Now welcoming conversations with universities, libraries, community organizations, and sponsors.
The two sessions
Learn it. Try it. Check it. Take it home.
This is not a general talk about AI. Across the two sessions, you work on one task that matters to you, understand every step, and keep responsibility for the final result.
Choose a task and use AI safely
You choose one task of your own, decide what an AI tool can and cannot help with, learn what information must stay private, and write a first prompt you understand.
You leave withA one-page Safety Card, one clear goal, and a first prompt you understand.
Create, check, and improve your work
You create something useful—a letter, plan, summary, or set of questions—then check the important details, revise the work in your own words, and decide the next step.
You leave withOne checked and revised useful output, a verification checklist, and a practical 30-day plan.

Where AI stops
People remain responsible for important decisions.
The Lab teaches these limits from the beginning so participants know when to stop, verify, or ask a qualified person for help.
- AI is not a lawyer, doctor, immigration adviser, tax adviser, lender, employer, or final decision-maker.
- Do not enter private identity, financial, medical, immigration, employment, or confidential documents into public AI tools.
- Check important information with official sources or qualified people.
- No employment, income, admission, funding, loan, immigration, or business outcome is promised.
Host or sponsor
Tell us about your community.
Hosting and sponsorship both start here. Five short steps, and you can stop at any point.
